Hand-Loom Weaving Workshop

Slow down, switch off and spend a couple of hours getting creative with the wonderfully tactile art of hand-loom weaving.

Join me, Renee from Pretty Knotty, for a relaxed 2-hour workshop in the lovely setting of Thrussington Village Store, where you’ll learn how to create your own contemporary woven wall hanging from scratch.

Designed especially for complete beginners, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the basics of setting up and working on a hand loom before experimenting with different weaving techniques to create pattern, depth and lots of gorgeous texture.

And then comes the best bit. choosing your fibres!

You’ll have a beautiful selection of soft merino roving, chunky and braided yarns, ribbons and textured fibres to play with, mixing colours and materials to create a piece that’s completely individual to you. Whether you love soft neutrals, earthy tones or something a little more colourful, there are no rules, your finished weave is yours to make your own.

By the end of the session, you’ll have your own unique woven wall hanging to take home, plus your hand loom and weaving tools are yours to keep, so you can carry on experimenting and creating long after the workshop has finished.
